Meet the Current Officers

of MAALJ for 2024-2025


Administrative Law Judge Erin Cancienne – President

Administrative Law Judge Cancienne graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University and obtained her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge.
She served as a law clerk to the the Honorable Anthony D. Ragusa, Jr., 25th Judicial District Court of Louisiana. She was a partner at DeCaro, Doran, Siciliano, Gallagher, and DeBlasis, LLP.
She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and Louisiana State Bar Association.

Administrative Law Judge Edward Kelly – President – Elect

Administrative Law Judge Kelley graduated from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and obtained his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University
as well as his masters from the University of Baltimore. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable James A. Kenney, III, Court of Special Appeals of Maryland.
He worked at the office of Piper, Marbury, Rudnick & Wolfe, and the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland in the Criminal Appeals Division and Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services.

Administrative Law Judge Leigh Walder – Immediate Past President

Administrative Law Judge Walder graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law and obtained his undergraduate degree from Towson University.
His legal experience includes working as a Staff Attorney at the Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings.
He is a member of the Maryland Association of Administrative Law Judges, Maryland State Bar Association, and the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary.

Angela Diehl – Treasurer

Administrative Law Judge Diehl graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law and obtained her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary. She served as a law clerk to the Honorable Audrey J.S. Carrion, Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Her legal experience includes working as a prosecutor for the State’s Attorney Offices for Baltimore City and Harford County. She is also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association, the Harford County Bar Association, and the National Association of Administrative Law Judges.

Carlton Curry – Secretary

Administrative Law Judge Curry graduated from University of Maryland, College Park, University of Baltimore School of Law, and St. Mary’s Seminary Ecumenical Institute, MATH. He served as a law clerk to the the Honorable Alfred Nance, Circuit Court for Baltimore City. His legal experience includes working as a Staff Attorney at the MD OAH, serving as an Executive Director for the Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners and worked as a Deputy Director, Maryland Legal Services Program. He has also worked as a Judicial Intern for Alexander Williams Jr., U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. His is a Life Member of the Monumental City Bar Association, Maryland Association of Administrative Law Judiciary, and National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary.
